Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings

Welcome to Signing Stars! We are so excited to have you and your little one join our classes.

Before you complete your booking, please take a moment to read through our Terms and Conditions. These are in place to ensure our classes remain a safe, happy, and inclusive environment for everyone. By booking a class with us, you agree to these terms.

1. Who We Are

Signing Stars provides interactive, engaging classes for children and their parents or carers.

2. Safeguarding and Child Welfare

Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. At Signing Stars, we are deeply committed to creating a culture of vigilance where the welfare of our attendees is the paramount concern.

All adults attending our sessions—including staff, parents, and carers—must remain alert to any concerns regarding the safety and welfare of any child, whether within the class environment or elsewhere. If you ever have a concern about a child's wellbeing, please speak directly to our DSL, Sian Halsall, immediately.

3. Bookings, Cancellations, and Refunds

  • Booking Confirmation: Your space in class is only secured once full payment has been received.

  • Cancellations & Transfers: If you need to cancel or transfer your booking to an alternative date or venue, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice.

  • Refunds: Refunds or transfers are only guaranteed if the required 24-hour notice is given. Regrettably, we cannot offer refunds for missed classes without prior notice.

  • Class Cancellations: In the rare event that Signing Stars has to cancel a class (due to staff illness, venue issues, or extreme weather), we will notify you as soon as possible via email or text. You will be offered a full refund for that session or a transfer to a future class.

  • Siblings: To ensure we maintain safe ratios and space in our venues, all attending children (including siblings) require their own ticket.

  • Waiting Lists: If a class is full, you can join our waiting list. If a space becomes available, we will contact the list on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Illness Policy

To keep all our families healthy, please do not attend class if you or your child are unwell.

  • In particular, we strictly ask that you avoid attending if anyone in your party has experienced sickness or diarrhoea within the last 48 hours.

  • Please also stay home if your child has a known contagious illness (e.g., chickenpox) until they are no longer infectious.

5. Behaviour and Responsibility

We want our classes to be fun and relaxed, but safety comes first. Parents and carers are fully responsible for supervising and always checking their child’s behaviour during the session.

In the event of a difficult or unsafe situation (e.g., throwing toys, rough play), the accompanying adult must step in to manage their child's behaviour. Signing Stars reserves the right to ask an adult or child to leave the session if their behaviour puts the safety or enjoyment of others at risk.

6. Health, Safety, and Liability Disclaimer

While we take every precaution to ensure our classes are safe, clean, and risk-assessed, participants take part entirely at their own risk.

  • Signing Stars accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, expense, or personal injury incurred by class attendees or their carers, except where required by law.

  • Please ensure your child is using age-appropriate props and instruments under your direct supervision during the session.

7. Social Media and Photography

We love capturing the magic of our classes! From time to time, we may take photos or short videos during the session to use on our social media channels or general marketing materials.

  • We will always ask for verbal permission before a session begins.

  • Wherever possible, photos and videos will be shot from behind, focusing on the class leader and not attendees.

  • Wherever a child's face is visible in our marketing materials, it will be blurred.

  • Adults must inform us if they also wish to be blurred in photos and videos.

  • If you do not wish for your child or yourself to be photographed at all, please let us know when booking or right before class starts. We will completely respect your choice and ensure you are opted out.

8. Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

Signing Stars is proud to be an inclusive environment where all families are safe, valued, and welcome. We celebrate diversity and operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, violence, abuse, or threatening behaviour of any kind. Anyone displaying such behaviour will be asked to leave immediately and permanently.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy and personal information are incredibly important to us. Any personal information that we collect from you during the booking process or during classes will be handled strictly in line with our Privacy Policy, which is available to read on our website.
